For Delivery Day
| Measure Your Space & Delivery Path | One of the most common issues we experience when making deliveries is large sectionals. Keep in mind that not only does your furniture need to work in the space you have chosen, but it needs to fit through doorways and corridors on the way to that space. Check any hallways, door frames, and corners where your new furniture will need to fit through and determine if your planned purchase will work in the space. Knowing the room’s layout and dimensions will help you avoid any problems or even potential damage to your walls or door trim. |
| Your Room Design | The chances are that if you’ve purchased your furniture already, then you have a general idea of where you want the items to go in your living space. However, if you aren’t sure where you want your furniture, now is the time to start planning your new item locations.Planning your layout will help cut down on the time needed for your in-home delivery. The furniture delivery team will be more than happy to move your purchase (not other household items) around to your specifications, but if you know where you want it, your delivery will be much faster! |
| Plan to Dispose of Old Furniture | When you are getting new furniture, disposing of your old furniture might not be at the top of your mind. However, you will need to prepare to have your old loveseat or sectional removed at some point. We can assist with the disposal of your old furniture for a fee of $150 for the first piece, and $10 for each additional piece. Please ask about this service when you schedule your delivery, as this service cannot be purchased on your day of delivery. For additional details please contact your salesperson. Having us remove your old furniture saves time and makes the process fast and easy.Another option is to contact your local trash removal service or a junk removal service and schedule a time to have them pick up your old furniture. Be sure to call and find out if the services you are looking at will haul away your old stuff. |
| Clean Any Clutter & Remove Items That Might Get Damaged | Whether your home is spotless or has that “lived-in” look, you will need to make sure that the spaces where the delivery team will be working, are clear of anything that could potentially hinder the delivery.Remove any loose rugs that could pose a tripping hazard. Put away any objects that could fall if bumped or jostled, and move any items that might be in the delivery team’s path. Removing objects that could be damaged will save time and ensure that your ceramic Russian nesting doll collection remains nested. Finally, make sure that the footpath and rooms where your furniture will end up are clear of clutter and any objects that will be potential tripping hazards. Nothing ruins a delivery day like a broken child’s toy or damage from an accidental fall. |
| Secure Any Pets or Children | Your little furballs love you, and they may love the delivery team’s company too, but a beloved family pet is also a tripping hazard for a furniture delivery team. Nobody wants the family pet to bear the blame for a sofa-shaped hole in your wall.To prevent animal accidents during delivery, Make sure your pets are secured where they cannot get underfoot during the delivery process. The delivery team will be grateful that they don’t have to watch out for stray paws and tails, and your pets will be excited to explore the new furniture after delivery!New furniture deliveries are exciting for everybody involved, especially your kids! They will want to be the first ones to sit at your sofa or dining table! Your furniture delivery can be a great moment to bond with the family over your shared enthusiasm! However, as exciting as the prospect of new furniture is for kids, keep in mind that furniture can be large, heavy, and dangerous to your little ones. To avoid any small toes accidentally getting stepped on, make sure that your kids are at a safe distance from the delivery team. |
